The Firm was established in 1974 by Richard Schreiner, and with the assistance of Joseph Bradley, a retired National Credit Union Administration Examiner, the Firm soon entered the credit union auditing field.

In October 1980, after a substantial growth period, Richard L. Schreiner and David R. Legge formed the professional corporation known as Schreiner, Legge & Company. In July 1983, a third Partner of the Firm, Kenneth M. Welch was admitted to the Firm. In 1988. Audry Pomerening was admitted as a Partner to the Firm.

At the current time, Schreiner, Legge & Company has a staff of over 30 professional auditors, CPAs and tax personnel. Schreiner, Legge & Company is a member of the Private Companies Practice Section of the AICPA, which requires that we maintain the highest professional standards for maintaining an audit practice. In the latest peer review on our Firm, which was completed in May of 2002, we received an unqualified opinion. Schreiner, Legge & Company also participates in the AICPA Quality Review Program by conducting peer and quality reviews on other CPA practice units located in the eastern United States.

Schreiner, Legge & Company, is currently one of the top six CPA Firms auditing credit unions with over $40 million in assets. The Firm provides services for tax and small business clients, audits national credit unions, performs audits for churches, non-profit trade associations, homeowners associations, health and welfare organizations and other non-profit disciplines.
